CSI

Sometimes when you’re sitting in the lab, you gotta take a break from watching the barriers move at the speed of light [yeah right] and from analysing the data [mata blur liao].

That’s why I am finishing all the CSI episodes that I downloaded earlier but never got around to watch. And which is my favourite CSI series? Hands down Las Vegas. The worst? Of coz Miami.

When you watch it on TV, you watch only one episode per week, and there’s only one season of one series going on at any time. It’s a bit hard to compare them side by side, because by the time you start with a new episode/season, you’ve already forgotten about the last one.

Watching them back-to-back definitely makes it easier to compare, and here’s what I noticed.

CSI [Las Vegas] has a leader who is very scientific minded. He takes care in making sure all evidence are not compromised. He is very knowledgeable about a lot of things. So basically, he’s the science nerd.

CSI NY’s Mac Taylor is a little stern, and is very quick in connecting the dots. He also happens to be played by one of my fave actors, Gary Sinise.

CSI Miami. Hmmm… Horatio Caine. Where do I start. I think he’s very compassionate, but his “empathetic” character is not suited for the science la. I mean, he’d do very well acting as some other character in some other police department or maybe even a counselling centre but he’s not for CSI. All he says is “Don’t go far” or stupid one-liners before zooming out of the screen. CSI Miami is more drama than CSI-like. And the drama queen in Mr Caine himself. Always speaking in riddles to dramatise things. Cis.

Taylor is definitely very hands-on with his crime scenes, you see him and Grissom wear lotsa gloves while Caine just goes around “emo-ing” thru his suspect interviews while striking weird poses. While Grissom is more of the nerdy type, Taylor is definitely cooler but still humble. Taylor is deffo the coolest boss.

As for the cops, CSI NY deffo has the coolest ones *swoon over Flint*. The old guy in the original CSI isn’t too bad. And again, Frank from CSI Miami is a bit stupid. Seriously he is.

The coolest coroner has to go to CSI NY. Love his glasses. Just unsnatch them in the middle. How cool izzat? Alexx, the coroner of CSI Miami deffo is the weirdest. But she’s aight. She’s just got an awful lot of respect for the dead and empathise with them. The coolest autopsy scenes has to be from the original CSI. Very raw. Melikes. :D

The original CSI had a lot more scenes on the evidence collecting and also the autopsy. CSI Miami can’t even be arsed to show the body with the scalp pulled to the deceased’s face with the ribs removed and organs exposed. Pfft.

Nobody can beat Gil Grissom. And I’m looking forward to watching the new leader who’s replacing Gil. Let’s see if he’s as good.

Hear! Hear!!
All hail CSI: Las Vegas!! I totally love Grissom and his team. I don't understand how Miami could go on for so long. No offense to Norven who adores Horatio.. but man, that guy just walk around, put on his sunglasses, try to act cool, emo abit and say some lame line, that's all. Like hello, if every CSI guy was like that, crimes would take forever to solve! haha.. =D

Which eps are you watching already? I think i should go buy the whole Vegas collection lah. heh. =)
