Snippets...

The following are what I call "mini-posts", composed when I was feeling a certain way alone when I am outside. I would see beautiful things and would get all poetic and shit but after I get to my room I would always forget about it. So as I experience the scenery around me, I've developed this habit of "mini-blogging" on my phone. And be warned, the following mini-posts are very bad attempts at making it all poetry and stuff and some of the words might be repeated, coz my vocab is just shrinking everyday. Hahahaha....

When I was walking from my lab to my hostel:
"You hear a distant crackling sound of leaves brushing against branches, immediately you know, another furry friend has made it to another tree. Walking in the light drizzle with such wonderful scenery surrounding me, it's hard not to feel that this might be my own backyard, and that I'm just the owner taking a breath of fresh air, strolling amongst neatly manicured bushes, with the flower all opened up to receive the glory that the morning brings everyday. Birds chiming and singing as though welcoming my visit to their humble abode, perched way out of reach of any human, if humans were not attempting approach in metal monsters."

When on top of St John's Hill in Melaka:
"The view from the fortress on the top of St John's Hill is mostly obscured by the trees, but if you lift your head up, you'd see the blue skyline which is partly cloudy, occasionally dotted with a pair of birds in flight... Faraway you'd see a tiny mound with a clump of cloud surrounding its crown... On the way down the hill you see tops of house roofs and distant buildings..."

When sitting at the beach in front of the Portuguese settlement in Melaka:
"Sitting right in front of the rocky beach with the sea breeze, back against the Portuguese settlement. This reminds me of the time when I was in Redang, although Redang was more peaceful and there was no lights in sight when you look out at the sea. The sky looks the same, the sound of the sea same, the waves look the same... The tranquility this serenity offers for a turbulent mind is very much palpable. Muting out the cacophony that chatters emitted, I find peace in having the sea breeze brushing against my face... A lone star and a crescent moon hang white and lonely in the sky, with their other shiny companions obscured by the night clouds tonight... Feet rested upon the granite rocks, feet tired from too many arduous journeys. The cool rock underneath soothes the pain from wears and tears of taking a bumpy road. Distant flashes of light blurred by rain clouds warns of a coming storm."
