Of ICAS and my class...

Over the weekend, I was assigned to attend ICAS 5 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It was an experience not to be forgotten. ICAs stands for International Convention of Asia Scholars. It is not something for Asian scholars only, but a convention for all scholars who are doing Asian Studies.

Saturday morning had to wake up at some donkey hour, to get to KLCC by 8am.

Anyways, to cut it short, I had to jaga panel room number 302 on Sat, and the first panel had some stuck up people, thinking just because they so damn smart, they can just walk past us without acknowledging we are actual humans. My partner [See Mua] and I were so pissed by these people, but later on we DID meet some friendlier ones. Even though this is ASIAN STUDIES, the people there were mostly ANGMOHS. Imagine that. But sorry la, 90% oldies, with bad dress sense. Undeniably, there were a couple of cute ones. But then, I thought to myself, "these people so damn smart, my level and theirs totally different la... ISH."

On Saturday, this happened...

I never caught his picture, but I saw a towering tall guy around 40 years old, and he had this wild, long hair and this long bushy beard. And he wore a tunic, and he was walking around like a hippie... The first thing that came on my mind was "Jesus has come."

I am not shitting you, I am serious!!! It's not everyday that you see a Holy figure walking around in KL, ya'know?

[It's 1.34am, 9th August now, and it's raining outside.... I love the weather.]

The food they served the guests were classy, and what they served us tasted really good too! I expected the usual Malaysian meal la, nasi lemak, mee goreng, the same shit. But then they served us Chinese food, DELICIOUS CHINESE FOOD!! Too bad I forgot to take pictures of it, but just imagine Chinese food la... Hahaha....

Their tea tidbits were yummy too. It's wonderfully crispy pohpiah on Saturday, and samosa on Sunday... I couldn't get enough of the food!

So, anyways, this place is freezing cold, and you can see in all the pictures I wore a jacket. That jacket was not sufficient to keep me warm. I was shivering inside out and outside in, and afterwards left side to right side and right side to left side. So, on the second day, I wore the same jacket on the inside and a UKM jacket on the outside. And I was a happy warm girl. Hehehe...

I've been trying very hard to concentrate in class lately, and I found that a lot of us are very exhausted and tired. PROOF:

I've discovered that Nuke Sc lecturers have a trend of picking up phone calls in class. 1) They should be having their phones on silent mode in the first place and 2) they should terminate the call immediately. But what happened was:
