I seriously don’t know what’s with Friendster and forwarded messages.
I’ve been receiving forwarded messages for as long as I had my Friendster account, and I am guilty of sending some of them myself. But since nowadays I really don’t have the mood or time to read all of them [it’s a PLAGUE in there] I have put up bulletins to warn people about how if they send me forwarded messages they will be spammed. But it seems to me nobody but the people who DON’T do the forwarding are getting the message. I guess my message got lost among the sea of useless chain letters disguised under cheesy titles.
If you are a “forwardee” like me, you’d know the annoyance of filtering out those messages sent to REALLY tell you something from those damn irritating forwarded ones. Through my arduous observation [ok la, I just got bored la] I found that the forwarded messages could be categorised as follows:
1) The Forwarded Friendship
These messages often tell you how much the sender appreciate you as his/her friend, and tells you to forward to a certain number of people including the sender to show how much you care, and if you don't, you'll suffer from some freak luck.

This is what I call forwarded and recycled friendship. People are just using this cheap and easy way to "show how much they care. Hello, if you truly care you would type me a personal message and not use what others sent you, ok? And if you DO care, you would not send rubbish to my inbox to take up space, and in the end waste my time deleting these messages.
2) The Link Forward
This type is somewhat similar to the one mentioned above, but it also covers something else. These forwarded messages include links to those websites that are supposed to tell you the meaning of friendship, with all the flashy fonts thinga-magic. Annoyance. You don't see the message immediately, but you are compelled to open the link and wait for the page to load when you have something else better to do like surf for porn view my profile do online research for your assignment. Then you end up with a page of ALL CHINESE WORDS. It's no big deal for Chinese-ed students la, but for me, I can understand simple Chinese words, BUT NOT A PAGE FULL OF THEM. I have tried to read all of the words on the page, but, sorry, no can do. I'd rather spend my time dazing at Jensen Ackles face, OK? 3) The "DUN ADD!!" Forward
OK, this is plain silly. Telling you not to add a certain person just because his profile has virus or whatever. Hello? You OK ah? Where got such thing one? You think you stupid I also stupid with you meh? What did this DJ Khugaan do to get this bad rep in the first place? Everybody's telling me not to add him. You think what, I'm that fehmes that any Tom, Dick, Harry wanna add me la? And just because you tell me not to add DJ Khugaan, you think this fella cannot change his username or open another account under another name la? And EVEN if the "virus" crap is true, you can always report to Friendster and they will close his account, OK? Stop wasting your time and my time, OK?

4) The Warning Forward
This type of forwarded messages is kinda similar to the previous one, but they tell you there's a type of virus floating around, an if you happen to receive it, "DON'T ACCEPT IT!!!" It's a Powerpoint Presentation file, and it's called "Life is Beautiful".

Whenever anybody receives any dubious messages like this one, [especially when you get it in Friendster] the first thing that needs to be done is to do some research to verify the authenticity of the message before passing it on. I've looked it up in Norton Antivirus's Online Virus Encyclopaedia website to look this virus up, surprise, surprise. This is what I got.

You may receive an apparently harmless email with a PowerPoint presentation called "Life is beautiful.pps."
If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately.
If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful", subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, email and password.
This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS VIRUS.
UOL has already confirmed its dangerousness, and the antivirus Softs are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner", and who aims to destroying domestic PCs and who also fights Microsoft in court!
That’s why it comes disguised with extension pps. He fights in court for the Windows-XP patent.

Really really hate those ppl who fwd n fwd n fwd in a neverending cycle all those stooopid idiotic messages! Making my "New Messages" link light up for no blardy reason.
Everytime i c tht Allen Smith msg, i always felt like replying them with a msg saying "Don't be stupid!! Use your brain... use your brain!!!!" . But.. sigh.. why waste my time, energy n brain cells talking to brickheads? Gosh... morons!
I dono bout u guys, but it always delights me to c a link light up in frenster. Cos it means there's a testi/comment for u to approve or someone wants to add u. So i get very upset n disappointed when i see the new msgs link light up. Cos.. somehow i'll end up clicking it to get rid of the light. Then when i click it.. all i see is stupid stuff!!! Damn sad je. Cos the whole pt of login in to frenster is to c new stuff ain it??
Now i don't even bother to open it.
So to all those who really want to leave a msg for me on frenster. Don't bother... I'll never check it.
