How The Story Began...

Respiration Inspiration to write this post came when Ming Eng and I were having a conversation in MSN. Ming Eng was in denial that she and I are actually friends, and she can't believe how it became this way. I will try my best to tell the story as accurately as possible... Here goes...

Long, long time ago in a faraway land called Johor Bahru, there was a school called SMK Convent. In this school, there was a girl named Ming Eng, who was also the Head Prefect and a girl named Roe Jin, who was a notorious noise maker.

There used to be boring endless assemblies and announcements [En. Aziz: Besok jangan lupe bawak seluar dalam. [oops...] *sweats* SELUAR PANJANG!], and what was a noise maker to do during such times? She makes noise, of course. And what was a Head Prefect to do when students make so much noise?

Ming Eng: Poh Roe Jin and *insert noisy friend's name*, please stop talking.

Roe Jin: *Ignores* Yak yak, yadda yadda....

Ming Eng: POH ROE JIN! PLEASE STOP TALKING!

Roe Jin: [remains silent for a moment]

Ming Eng: [back to conducting assembly]

Roe Jin: [with eyes off her, starts talking again] yak yak yak, bla bla bla...

Ming Eng: Poh Roe Jin! And *insert noisy friend's name*! Stay back after assembly!

So, the busted noisy friends stayed back and kena teruk from the Head Prefect. The problem is, they never learn their lessons. And so the same things happened day after day, until the day they had to say goodbya to all the Convent teachers and to Convent.

Half a year later, Ming Eng and Roe Jin met each other again in Sekolah Itik Gantung Spander SIGS. At first, Roe Jin still had some of bad feelings in Convent with her in regards to Ming Eng. But as they went along adapting to life in SIGS, they found that things were totally different than when they were in Convent. Teachers were colder, there were more Malay students, and students didn't respect and love their teacher like how they did back in Convent. Things weren't like how they used to be, and Ming Eng and Roe Jin had to adapt.

It was tough at first, because both of them couldn't get used to listening to Martian language bad Engrish during the Chemistry class conducted by the damn Martian Mr Tey. So bad in fact was his Engrish, that Roe Jin had to tune out, otherwise she'd have a nightmare later on that night. Ming Eng tried many times to brainwash hypnotise advise Roe Jin to not be so mean to Da Bao Mr Tey, but Roe Jin had no way of accepting the facts. Ming Eng, on the other hand, had a deeper understanding of the teacher, and she is actually on friendly terms with him. And I guess being kind and nice to others had an advantage, you see the story behind a person's facade. You understand the hardship and tribulations that that particular person had to go through to get where he is today.

Time flew, and the friendship between Roe Jin and Ming Eng grew stronger. Form 6 was a big turning point for them, for they learnt that people who seem to be your friends may hurt you the most, and that if you try to understand other people more, you might even find a friend in your enemy, and that's how they found each other [OK, I know this came out sounding very lesbo]. And Roe Jin, towards the end of the their journey in SIGS, found a friend in Mr Tey too...

Exam ended, and the half a year passed [they were colleagues for a while]. Intake started and they went their separate ways: Ming Eng went to NTU in Singapore, and Roe Jin went to UKM, in Selangor. They don't see each other as often anymore, but they keep in touch by sms, MSN and by reading each other's blogs. And they decided to take it further, so when Ming Eng had the idea of having a blog TOGETHER, Roe Jin said, "YES!" and the rest, like people always say, is history. No no no. It's not history. It's just the beginning...
